Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions section of Tekky Toys!

The answers to many of your questions can be found within these pages; some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers are listed below. In some cases, a link appears to the section of our site that provides the answer.

Q: Why isn’t my 'toy’ working/dancing/singing/flying etc?
A: Almost always one word: BATTERIES. Make sure to read the directions on the color packaging regarding REPLACING any demo batteries that may have been included with the toy.

ALSO: be sure the toy is in the ON position. Most of the toys are shipped in an ON or DEMO mode. Depending upon the toy, you may need to turn the SWITCH to ON. Operating instructions for each toy are included on the color packaging.

Q: How do I get my FLYING GHOST or MONSTER to fly?
A: First of all, check the batteries. These items are NOT shipped with batteries and require 3 AA heavy-duty alkaline cells for best performance.

It is also VERY important to set up any of the FLYING items with a TAUT and LEVEL cable. Each Flying Ghost or Monster has specific directions printed on the color box, to help you get the BEST performance,

Q: How do I get my SANTA’S FLYING SLEIGH™ to fly?
A: First of all, REPLACE the batteries. Santa’s Flying Sleigh™ is shipped with demo batteries for in-store operation.

NOTE: Santa’s Flying Sleigh has a TRY ME button and wire, attached to the bottom of the sleigh WHICH MUST BE REMOVED FOR OPERATION. Be sure to carefully REMOVE the in-store TRY ME button and wire before you begin set up.

Q: Why should I replace the “DEMO” batteries?
A: Tekky Toys provides DEMO batteries to show the consumer how the product will operate while on the retail shelf. These batteries are meant only as a means of demonstration, and may be worn out due to repeated use. Replacing the batteries with FRESH cells, as indicated on the color packaging, will greatly improve the toy’s performance and your enjoyment!

Q: How do I replace the batteries?
A: Most all of Tekky Toys are sold with replaceable AA or AAA type batteries. Some dolls (Voodoo Boss™) use replaceable button cell batteries. In any case, the directions for locating the battery pouch are on each color box. The battery pouch is a small, plastic ‘box’, connected to the main module and is usually located underneath the toy, or in a ‘velcro’ pouch in the back of a plush toy.

Q: What kind of batteries should I use?
A: Whether AA, AAA or button cell, we recommend you use FRESH, heavy-duty NAME BRAND alkaline batteries for best performance. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN ANY OF OUR PRODUCTS.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS AND CAUTIONS
-Use only the batteries recommended.
-Remove batteries when not in use for extended periods of time.

Q: Where can I find Tekky Toys products?
A: Tekky Toys products are sold on a WHOLESALE basis to retailers and re-sellers who market our goods on- and off-line. Check out the WHERE TO BUY section for more information!

Q: Can you send me a catalog of your products?
A: Unless you’re a qualified re-seller with a tax re-sale number, we’re unable to send you a catalog. If you’re a wholesaler interested in carrying our product line, please see the WHERE TO BUY section for information on contacting our sales office and assistance in downloading PDF-versions of our latest marketing materials.

Q: Can I contact you if I have an idea for a toy?
A: Yes, but… Tekky Toys is constantly developing new products and may be in the process of developing an item substantially similar to yours. The best approach when contacting ANY company with an idea is to do your homework -- to understand the creative, legal and financial aspects of ‘selling’ your idea. A good place to start is to view the TOY INVENTOR & DESIGNER GUIDE available on the Toy Industry Association’s web site.

Q: What do I do if my toy is broken or can’t be fixed?
A: Please return the item to the original place of purchase for a refund or replacement, depending upon the retailer’s policies. Keep your original receipt, as most retailers will not accept a return without one.
